VOICE MEME

Since we're all going to be singing at each other for the next few weeks, we should showcase our characters' voices! Post with clips to their songs/performances, talk about how they sound or move around, etc. It's up to you!

Sigyn
She moves carefully, making her footfalls as quiet as possible. Her backstory tags her as a former socialite, so I image she's quite good at dancing.

He has a very noticeable presence and does a lot of flourishes when he's talking, which I'm basing off of the live performances. If you don't mind camera shots to a crowd of metalheads, this performance is a good example.

Originally depicted in this video, he looks more or less like this;
and then there was a graphic novel where he looked like this;
But honestly you can disregard both of that because we're (I'm) making his PB the lead singer of the band even though that is very much not canon, but that way I can also say he sounds like him, too, so go ahead and watch the above video once more and then watch this one, too.
IN TERMS OF MANNERISMS, he's almost painfully average. Maybe a little closed off, but this is absolutely the kind of guy who blends in with a crowd without even trying, not because he's good at being unseen, more that he just doesn't...stand out, more or less.
Depending on how memories go, that may change! As it stands, his
falsecanonpoint has him just learning of a Hell Of An Infobomb. So he'll be...somewhat recovering from that bombshell.Also he has numbers tattooed on the side of his head so feel free to eyes emoji about that.

Here's a song about why her title is what it is, and uh. Slight gore cw in the visuals, but if you want to know the general sing-talking default she has here's a heartwarming and honest conversation between her and her dad over the phone!

Here's a sample of his singing voice, and here is his speaking voice.

As for her singing, Nana’s got one big song in the anime (that isn’t just a few lines in someone else’s) but for reasons I’m not sharing it yet. Instead, I’ve got some from the stage shows!
There’s PRE CALL which is a song where each girl does a brief self intro (I originally was only going to upload Nana’s for this but... they’re all so cute I couldn’t help but upload the whole thing)
And this live version of Heart of a Theatre Actress that she sings with Junna and Mahiru. This one’s a much longer and better sample of her singing! (It also makes me cry a little bc I’m a baby)
As for mannerisms, I will say that Nana’s pretty subdued but graceful. A big part of the curriculum at Seisho is dancing, from ballet to traditional Japanese, and I’d say the impact of that shows. She’s also usually got her smart phone out and in front of her face so she can take pictures of everything but I didn’t put it in her regains so it’s a moot point here.

This is the stream from their final concert, to give an idea of the look of the band and Jonny's general physicality, an older live recording of Drunk Space Pirate and who doesn't love a man who can do a rebel song?
and as a bonus just a bunch of band banters because they're fun

Short Steve
He tends to get very animated (ha) when he's excited, and he's usually generally very expressive in general, but this tones down a bit when he's older unless things are especially intense. But generally, yeah, he's pretty heart-on-his sleeve and definitely doesn't have much of a poker face.

Here's her most popular song, and this other, uplifting song.
She's also quite animated when she sings, except in the sad moments.

if you want more about mannerisms/look/etc: first impressions! much of the music in bmc is kind of speak-sung so here's the opening number which contains some actual dialogue and a lot of "singing." here's another song that's more sung. but mostly by michael. if you want to see what that one looks like here's the broadway cast doing it! featuring my second favorite tv edit line*: high school’s perverse, but without you it’d be so much worse.
i'm just linking that so you all understand what jeremy means when he eventually starting talking about his "best friend michael." he means "my queerplatonic best bro michael who has two moms and who's my only friend and also my favorite person."
* my favorite tv edit line is "how was gym? girl, you look grim" from this performance.
Claudine
That said, if you play Bang Dream at all, you’ll recognize Claudine’s actress, Aina Aiba. She voices Yukina and as such, does all the main vocals for Roselia. While I won’t link a bunch of those songs, they’re worth a listen.
I will, though, link both Claudine’s mobile game intro and the song Zeus no Chuusai from a live show last fall. The latter is a lot of fun, and one of my favorites from that particular live. I’m linking that instead of anything directly from the anime because Claudine doesn’t get a solo or a duet, and that’s a crime tbh.
As for Claudine’s general mannerisms, she carries herself like a dancer. She’s graceful and fluid in her movements.

I'll stop doing that eventually maybeFor more on Riley's mannerisms, please check her first impressions post! I'm...basically going to be lifting from there to begin with, but eh, details.
Riley sings the intro to the show with the rest of the girls coming in at the end. There's a bit of her talking in the middle and more at the end! There are a few other songs to share, but I'm going to avoid linking those for a spoiler-free experience.
If you want a bit more of her casual talking voice, see here! Please refrain from watching too much, spoilers and all that. The show is...a bit out of order and incomplete, but it serves our purposes. (Also as mentioned in the first impressions post, dear evan hansen meets heathers is not an accurate description but that's neither here nor there.)

here's a clip of one of her nicer verbal attacks plus a musical performance, and here's her singing a duet with mercedes, the other character who absolutely carries this hot mess of a show.

Abandoned is a really great example of Ariel's voice. For funsies, though, have a "duet" between Ariel and Mephisto.
