1) CURTAINS UP

You’ve just woken up in some kind of dorm room, which is certainly not where you went to bed last night. Actually, do you even remember going to sleep…? Regardless, this isn't where you last were, and worse still - there's other people waking up in the same room with you, in the same state.

Talk to your roommates! Go out and meet everyone from the other rooms! Most of these people may be strangers, but you’re gonna all have to get used to one another. And who knows? There may actually be a familiar face in the crowd.

2) THIS PETTY PACE

By now, you're acquainted with everybody here and you're slowly growing bored. Bored enough to kill? Hopefully not. You'd better try to find something else to do. You can always go hang out with your castmates, or maybe try and whip something up in the kitchen! There’s even a band room to keep you busy! I sure hope you like music.

3) BREAK A LEG

Comedies are fun and all, but that’s not quite what we’re about here. You’ve all just been handed this week’s motive. What do you make of it? Is it one that might actually tempt you to kill, or did you get off lightly this time? Either way, maybe you’d better look around the room and see who else is having a rough time.

4) I LOVE PLAY REHEARSAL

It's Club Day! What's Club Day, you ask? Come to the classroom on the poster to find out! It looks like this week's club is Bread Club. Be wary, when you enter the classroom you'll face a shower of various bread slices but be rewarded with a surprisingly fancy layout of spreads and jams to go with them. Don't mind the oddly threatening poster on the far wall. He's just here to supervise.

5) CURTAIN

It was bound to happen eventually. Someone is dead, and now it's time to go off and investigate. Were they close to you? Are you, perhaps, feeling guilty? Either way, it's probably best not to leave anyone alone right now.

6) CUE MUSIC

Feelings in a murder-school can get pretty gosh darn intense. Sometimes you’ve just got to let it out. And hey, if you sing a song about whatever’s going on in your head, maybe someone will hear and come help you? Either way, this is a musical – there’s not really any reason not to sing.

[Mod Note: The song mechanic is meant to be fluid and simple. You do not have to produce your own song lyrics, nor are you required to use show tunes (although we do encourage it!). If you want to rewrite existing lyrics to fit the situation, go for it! Anything goes - if Mumford and Sons expresses your character’s current emotions, then break out the banjos. We want to keep the musical mechanic as fun and simple as we can to encourage our players to use it as much as they like.]

[Erika wakes up slowly. Surprisingly slowly, actually. She's enjoying the chance to doze. No one's yelling at her to get up and she hasn't heard any roosters calling yet. What a nice morning.

...Too nice. Suspiciously nice.

It's that thought that gets her bolting up, quick.]

What time is it? [Then she... blinks. Wait a second...] Um. Oh... Madam Carp didn't redecorate, did she?

ii. bread

[First rule of Bread Club: never speak of Bread Club again.

Not that she's going to judge about strange interests, of course. Bread's nice and all! Baking is important. But this is a little... much. A lot much.

Food's food, though, so screw it. May as well have a slice and not think about all the bread crumbs she'll have to clean up later. Though she stops next to the poster, looking it over.]

I don't suppose you want some? [She holds her jam covered slice up to the poster, smirking a bit at her own stupid joke.] Just thought it might turn that frown upside down. No?

iii. wildcard

[go wild, give me whatever]

That is not a name I recognize. [The man standing next to her looks a bit wobbly on two legs, and after a bit leans over so that he's half-crouched on the side of her bed, catlike.] Though I believe no one here is aware in any way what time it is, or even where we are.

Ah... [She eyes this... odd man with some suspicion.] Well, good news, bad news, I guess.

[She starts getting up, but... Oh geez, this guy's looking like he's having a hard time.]

Are you... okay? You don't look too well.

I shall be fine. This form is merely...unfamiliar to me. I don't know how you humans deal with having only two limbs and no wings to balance yourselves.

Well, usually we just set one foot in front of the other and hope gravity is on our side. But, to be honest? Not everyone manages.

[...She'll just, push to her feet properly and offer a hand to help him up.]

So, if you're not human, what are you supposed to be?

[She's not sure how legit this is, but right now? May as well roll with things.]

Somehow, I think it will take a bit more than that to change his disposition.

[a bit dry, but amused. Salieri is kind of just here, being a wallflower, slowly making his way through a roll and observing the others here. Like Erika.]

Oh, you never know. He might just be hungry.

[Baps the slice against the poster a moment... and then quickly and sheepishly wipes off the crumbs it leaves.]

Well, more for us, I guess.

How generous of him to leave so much, ah...[Salieri glances at all the various bits of bread laying about, even the ones on the floor as a result of the bread shower every single time someone walks into the room]...enticing treats for us.

And he seems so sweet and generous in his picture, too.

[...She knows she shouldn't judge him based on that, but, well. The bread shower, though.]

I can't wait to have to clean all the crumbs out of my hair.

Who's Madam Carp?

[Hi, here's your new roommate. It seems she woke up a few minutes before you and was contemplating coming to check your pulse before you woke up.]

Do you know where we are? Because This looks nothing like any dorm at UCLA.

My boss. I was supposed to be in her shop. So, we're both not where we're supposed to be, huh?

I guess at least I have a pretty good reason to miss work.

[#priorities]

Oh man, I was hoping you would know where we are. [She pouts for a moment, but just a second later she's all smiles again.]

Well, hopefully this is just some weird prank or something.

[Deep breath. Okay. Staying positive.]

I guess it's better than some pranks. At least we're not waking up in the middle of a lake or something.

Right? That happened to one of Warner's friend's when we went camping once.

So where are you from? That dress is so cute!

Oh, thank you! I actually made this one myself.

[It's also like her only dress but, you know.]

I work at Madame Carp's Dress Emporium. That's where I just was. I guess I must have fallen asleep.

You made that yourself? That is so amazing!

[Obviously she isn't going to inspect the dress up close, but it looks really well made from what she can see.]

I've never heard of that store. Is it near UCLA?
