act 3 pre-show mingle!

Greetings, friends, and welcome to the third and final act of It's Curtains! We hope you're all as excited as we are! The school is prepped and ready for your arrival and we are eager as anything to get started. The show will be starting soon (May 30th) with a mingle log but before the curtain goes up, let's get to know each other a little better.

You can use this post to introduce yourselves, exchange contact info, start plotting, the usual shenaniganry. Feel free to provide your contact information (plurk, discord, ect) and don't forget to follow the stagemanagers- it'll make things easier when your time comes. The discord is, of course, completely optional and any important information posted there will also be posted on the mod plurk.

Since we have some new faces to murdergames themselves, here's a quick rundown of how this weekend will go down: on Sunday (5/30) the opening log will go up and everyone will have several hours to mingle and explore and thread. At around 5 pm or 6 pm EST a top level will go up to introduce your assistant director, who will be effectively in charge of the students. She'll hold a short q&a and then, upon her exit, her office hours will open. The following Monday the weekly log will go up and Peace Week will commence, meaning there will not be a case or a motive until Week 2.

Hi everybody!! I'm QV and I hate going first so I'm stalling and hoping someone else posts their intro before I finish this I'm here bringing you Orpheus from Hadestown, a musical that takes place in a Dustbowl-ish America-ish setting where the Greek gods are still about and causing problems for everyone around them, as they do.

As for Orpheus himself, all you really need to know can be summed up in this pair of songs but the long and short of it is that he's a fantastically optimistic sweetheart with a heart of gold and a voice blessed by the gods, and he's also got a kind of poor grasp of basic social skills. You know, things like "not proposing to women he's literally just met". He's doing his best!! Please be nice to him.

Hi, QV!!! I'm Ashley, welcome to Curtains! I'm one of the few people who hasn't listened to all of Hadestown, but I positively love what I have heard, and I'm always a sucker for the Orpheus and Eurydice myth. I'm gonna be playing a kind of grumpy teen so I apologize in advance for her... But I'm excited to get some CR, and not just because the man she's projected all her abandonment issues on is voiced by Patrick Page. ;)

On my end I haven't listened to In Strange Woods but I've heard real good things about it and have been meaning to get to it for reasons that probably aren't just Patrick Page related. this does raise the question of whether Orpheus knows who Mozart is because like how deep into althistory territory are we getting with Hadestown's whole deal?? It's probably fine though I'll figure it out later
