SUMMARY; wall of text incoming I'm so sorry

ALRIGHT SO. After some discussion with Floral, immediate future plans are for Orpheus and Eurydice to go traveling between worlds together while Persephone puts the seasons back in order back where they came from. If you want to assume they stopped by, that's A-OK by me! They'll probably be spending a lot of time in Salieri's Vienna, but it'll take a while for their world to start to recover from the combined dustbowl/yearly blizzard-drought cycle apocalypse that was going on back there, so they're happy to take as many detours on their way back home as their friends will put up with.

After that, they'll be settling down in a little cottage on a cliff by the sea, though Salieri will be maintaining a place for them at his estate for when some of the gods responsible for the weather or the harvest or whatever (looking at you Poseidon and Amphitrite) inevitably start having Problems again and they want to get the fuck out of there. Eventually, probably in a few years once they get over that intense dustbowl/millennial solidarity fear of the failing environment and economy and can both be sure that it's safe, they'll have a daughter named Phoebe, who I'm sure you're all eager to spoil rotten. Drawings of her are probably incoming once my hand is okay again because I'm trash and will not stop crying about them getting a happy ending and a family.

Anyway, Orpheus will also start coming into his own as an oracle as he gets older. He does this in mythic canon after Eurydice dies, but I figured here it might be fun to play with the fact that he now exists in a highly meta-aware narrative-driven multiverse and his mother is the goddess of epic poetry/longform storytelling, and have his Sight manifest as being able to sense tone and narrative threads as they're forming. He's not a Narrator, but he can hear the background music, so to speak. People will come to him with offerings in exchange for advice as they do with oracles and he'll tell them weird cryptic bullshit and Eurydice will sigh and translate for him or offer more practical advice.

Also, someday his mom is actually going to come back for him, and when she does he'll call in the massive favor she owes him for wandering off on him for most of his life and ask her to take his immortality away. Can muses do that? Fuck if I know, maybe she calls in a favor from Zeus for him being a terrible dad in turn. Chain parental guilt. Either way, it means he and Eurydice get to grow old together, and when their time comes they go peacefully to the Underworld together, hand in hand.

(This may be a low key invitation for those capable to break into Hadestown and visit them in Elysium or Apshodel or wherever they wind up.)

LOOKING FOR; Man what am I not down for. I fully expect PSL stuff from any of you who are willing - Orpheus will happily help out with the Somniatores project with his budding future sight as well as just visit people whenever he can find an excuse to. Continuations of close CR are great!! Filling in CR that didn't get visited on much in game would also be great! I'm here for all of it.

makes noises about phoebe OOCly because ICly eszmet'd have like zero interest, outside of 'this is important to someone who i find useful, therefore they are important by extension'

but yeah Eszmet could/would ABSOLUTELY tap Orpheus from time to time; it's definitely not a Narrator, itself; if anything, it's a Reader. So it'll definitely need assistance with the actual fixing of things, and/or a better understanding of where things are going!

...if Orpheus gets cryptic at it though it's just going to lineface until he explains it properly.

Look Eszmet that's what you get for technobabbling at him, he has no idea what the fuck you're talking about a full quarter of the time, he's allowed to do his prophecies in full rhyming verse at you too. On the bright side he does get very good at telling where a story is trying to go and figuring out ways to right its course as he goes on!! He's the type who probably needs a handler to make sure he doesn't get distracted in each new world and wander off, but when he's on task he's good at what he does.

Also rude, no, you will appreciate his beautiful baby. He'll make you. This is a promise. This is a threat.

I'm very sorry but Phoebe is absolutely going to become very attached to auncle Eszmet in that way that children sometimes decide adults who have no idea how to talk to children are Super Cool Obviously. Orpheus will do zero things to discourage this, he thinks also thinks Eszmet is cool for some reason.

first of all, spongebob would absolutely dote on phoebe! he's also like, canonically good w caring for children so he can and will babysit for them whenever they need one!

also once mr. krabs is sued for all his money, spongebob won't exactly want/need much of it so he'd honestly give most of his money to orpheus and eurydice to make sure they have a comfortable life! he really mean it when he said he never wants them to worry about food ever again

That's really adorable of you Spongebob like between you and Antonio and Angus and Elsa I get the feeling they'll be getting a lot of financial support if they ever run into trouble again but it does raise the question of how exchanging currency across universes is going to work here

like the most immediate solution I can think of is buying non-currency things with value like gold or other liquid assets or whatever and moving that across worlds but that's incredibly stupid. which probably means it's what they do until like Eszmet or someone gives them a better solution.

lkjfsl honestly the idea of them buying gold whenever they have to go to another dimension Is hilarious, but I'm sure Eszmet or Discord could settle it for them!

Or I guess Orpheus can just go Ham on buying stuff in Bikini Bottom

She can gossip with Persephone!! And Orpheus will also be very happy to see her, obviously. It'll probably take him a little while to wrap his head around her Death not being Thanatos as he knows him, but. He'll get there.
